Spooky fun at Lifestyles Centre
Over 200 children and families took part in a fun Halloween party in Fairhill last month.
The event was held in Fairhill Lifestyles Centre on Saturday, October 29.
Volunteers from Fairhill Community Group organised the event, with support from Community Links (South Lanarkshire).
Louise Mcbride, chairperson of Fairhill Community Group, said: “We were totally over the moon with the turnout at our Halloween party.
“I think it’s safe to say it was a great success and we can’t wait until next Halloween.
“We would like to say a big thank you to volunteers Mary, Josie, Cath, Jaqui, Jeanie and Elizabeth, who all helped to organise the event, and also to everyone who came along on the day.”
A total of 219 children and adults took part in Halloweenthemed party games, dancing, fancy dress and a family disco with music provided by young DJ and Community Links volunteer Connor D.
The community group are made up entirely of volunteers from the Fairhill area who work hard all year round, organising events like the annual Fairhill Fun Day, as well as supporting the Fairhill Food Co-op which takes place in the Lifestyles Centre every Thursday between 10am-2pm.
The Halloween event was only made possible through donations received at the fun day, as well as through money raised at the community food co-op.
The group are planning to hold more events and activities for families in the Fairhill area, however more volunteers are always needed to help support organise and run them.
