Newhomes planlodged
New plans for homes by the Clyde at Bothwell have been lodged with planners.
Miller Homes wishes to build a total of 107 homes at the Bothwellbank site where Cala Homes were granted planning permission to build 60 homes earlier this year.
Cala Homes however withdrew from the scheme afterwards.
A spokesman for Miller Homes said this week that 26 of the 107 homes in their plans will be ‘affordable’.
The spokesman said: “We have submitted a proposal of application for a new development of 107 high quality family homes at Bothwellbank Farm in Bothwell.
“The site has already been allocated for residential development within the South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan and we believe our proposals, which have been well considered and include a number of affordable homes, will help the area meet its housing needs.”
Miller Homes will hold a public consultation meeting on their plans at the Bothwell Bridge Hotel on December 7 at 8pm.
Cala Homes’ plans attracted 19 letters of objection.
Bothwell Community Council also objected on grounds which included access from Blantyre Mill Road and Clyde Avenue.
A gas pipe serving the nearby sewage works was to be rerouted to accommodate the Cala development.
