Three top bands have been confirmed to play at a three day party in East Kilbride later this month.

Scotland’s newest multi-million pound leisure facility, The Hub, is about to be unveilled and partygoers will be given a unique opportunity to see the new facilities and enjoy some top class entertainment. DJ George Bowie, leading bands Scouting for Girls, The Lafontaines and November Lights - and a surprise X Factor star who will be confirmed in the next few days will all perform at a stunning three day party from Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20. The Hub at EK is a new 70,000 sq ft family focused leisure destination at Scotland’s largest undercover shopping centre.

The new development offers a range of entertainment options including eight new restaurants and cafes, a three story climbing wall, Hi-ride aerial adventure course and soft play, alongside the centre’s refurbished ice rink and existing Odeon Cinema.

The list of restaurants opening their doors at EK will include Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito, Pizza Express, Handmade Burger Co and Filling Station with Bella Italia and Nandos scheduled to open over the next few weeks.

While there are still a few finishing touches to complete behind the scenes, the EK team has ensured there will be plenty of additional entertainment on offer for young and old over the party weekend, including Santa’s arrival at EK with his reindeer.

Ian Mclelland, Centre Director at EK East Kilbride, said: “The Hub, EK is a fantastic new leisure destination and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our party.

“As the refurbishment nears completion we wanted to say a huge thank you to the local community and our visitors from further afield for bearing with us as we built our new leisure facilities. Their patience, support and understanding has been gratefully received and we hope they enjoy all that the weekend has to offer, including being the first to see how amazing The Hub, EK looks.”

The jam-packed weekend of free entertainment kicks off on Friday, November 18 when one of Scotland’s most recognisable DJS, George Bowie, arrives at EK for a GBX ice disco. The two hour fully charged Bowie on Ice set will kick off at 7pm.

The party continues as evening draws near, with pop rock band, Scouting for Girls, rising stars from Motherwell, The Lafontaines, and Glasgow’s November Lights taking to the stage in The Hub from 6pm to 9pm.
