Duo carry on dad’s work in his memory

£3190 raised for hospice as tribute to Brian

- Leona Greenan

Hamilton sisters Stephanie Ashbridge and Lianne Seymour held a charity evening, in memory of their father, which raised a phenomenal £3190 for Lanarkshire’s Kilbryde Hospice.

Hospice supporter Brian Ashbridge had started planning the fundraising event which took place on Friday, November 4, in the Columba Club in Blantyre.

However, when Brian sadly passed away earlier on in the year, his daughters Stephanie and Lianne decided to continue organising the evening in his memory.

The night included some fantastic entertainment from Leona Corio and Robert Mcintosh, and those attending enjoyed a raffle and auction, with all proceeds going straight to Kilbryde Hospice.

Stephanie said: “Our dad had originally started planning this charity night for Kilbryde Hospice but sadly passed away in April.

“We didn’t want to let the charity down so decided to go ahead with the show in his memory.

“We never imagined we would have raised as much money as we did and want to give a special thanks to everyone who came along and bought tickets, raffles or bid for the auction prizes.

“We approached lots of different companies and football clubs and would like to thank them for their generosity and the prizes that they donated.”

Kilbryde Hospice provides care and support to people in Lanarkshire with life-limiting illnesses, and extends this support to their carers and loved ones too.
