Alex D’acol dedicated his goal to the victims of the Colombia air disaster, but says Hamilton are repeating themselves after again being pegged back when they’ve taken the lead.

Brazilian striker D’acol opened the scoring for Hamilton in 15 minutes, nipping the ball off of defender Liam Lindsay’s toes after he failed to deal with Lennard Sowah’s long ball, rounded goalkeeper Tomas Cerny and smashed the ball into the net.

He said: “It’s difficult because it’s my country. I cannot feel what they are feeling but I can imagine, so I feel for them and I hope God gives them the peace they need to bypass that sadness.

“I dedicated the goal to them, I hope they can get past this moment.”

Hamilton have opened the scoring and failed to win seven times this season, and D’acol says it’s enormously frustrating.

“It’s disappointing again,” D’acol said. “We had the win in our hands and let it slip again, it’s two points down the drain. We are becoming very repetitive; we’re leading and all the time it’s happening that we’re conceding, so it’s disappointing.

“I scored my fifth of the season but we didn’t get the win, so the feeling is frustration. I’m happy with the goal, but the main reason I’m here is not to score only goals, but to get the team as high up the league as possible.

“However, it’s finished, there’s nothing we can do, and we move to the Inverness game and go for the win.”
