\ Harvest Christian Fellowship

We meet every Sunday, 10.30 am at Hillhouse/earnock Community Centre. The service this Sunday will be led by Pastor Willie Watt. Tea/coffee will be served after the service when we enjoy a time of informal fellowship. Anyone wishing to come along will be made most welcome.

On Monday, our Kids Club “Monday Club” for kids of primary school age starts at 7pm, Hillhouse Community Centre. Our Christmas town centre outreach takes place on Saturday, December 17, adjacent to Asda. We will be sharing the “reason for the season” and blessing the community with gifts from Santa and carol singing. The children are practising very hard for our nativity “A midwife crisis”, a hilarious modern day nativity which will take place on Sunday, December 18, at 6.30pm. We invite you to come along and enjoy our special production. Coffee and mince pies will be served after the service.

\ Hamilton Old Parish Church

Fourth Sunday in Advent. Our morning worship is at 10.45am and will be led by Reverend Ross Blackman. We look forward to seeing the children from Sunday Live! putting on their own production of the Nativity Play during the service. This is also “Christmas Jumper” Sunday so please come dressed accordingl­y in your favourite Christmas jumper! \ St John The Baptist Church, Uddingston

The Diocesan Choir will lead us in a Christmas Carol Concert tonight (December 15) at 7pm. We would be delighted if you could come along and join us. All are most welcome. Our quarterly Mass for the sick is this Saturday (December 17) at 11am followed by refreshmen­ts in the hall. The recent appeal in aid of the Hospice raised £1868.96 for their Capital Appeal together with £1824.26 in the SVDP collection towards the weekly running costs means a total of £3693.22 went to the hospice. Some places are available for the next pilgrimage to Medjugorje on June 28. The cost is £679 for a week half board with £100 off if paid in full by December 29, 2016.

Go to www.saintjohnb­aptist.org and click on the box that says ‘live cam.’ On Monday the Padre Pio Prayer Group meet after the 9.30am Mass and a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm-9pm in the Oratory. The SVDP meet at 6.30pm on Tuesday and the RCIA group meet at 7.30pm in the small hall. On Wednesdays a Divine Mercy Hour begins at 7pm in the Oratory and a Prayer and Praise Group from 8pm - 9pm. The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays 10am -4pm. Church cleaning is on Friday mornings after Mass if anyone would like to help.

Sunday Masses: vigil 4.30pm, 10am, noon, 6pm. Weekday Mass: 9.30am daily. Confession­s: Saturday - 10am 10.50am and after vigil Mass.

\ Hamilton United Reformed Church

Our Service on Sunday, December 18, will be led by Reverend Derek G. Corner, retired URC minister. The service will begin at 11.30 and be followed by tea served in the hall. We still have our box in the vestibule for the Hamilton Foodbank.

\ Dalserf Church

1st Dalserf Boys’ Brigade will meet tonight (December) in Rorison Church. Prayer Group in Hamilton Hall, Dalserf on Sunday’s from 11.10am. Sunday Morning Worship (fourth Sunday of Advent) in Dalserf at 11.30am led by Rev John Stevenson. Girls’ Brigade will be on holiday until January 9, 2017. Boys Brigade will meet again on Thursday, December 22, and will then be on holiday until January 12, 2017.

\ Blantyre Old Church

Worship on Sunday at 11am will be a Nativity Service led by Rev Sarah Ross with Sunday Club children taking part. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the Hall at close of the service. There will be an Advent Communion on Tuesday, December 20, at 7.30pm in the church. All welcome.

\ Gilmour and Whitehill Church

This Sunday, December 18, our usual morning worship at 10am will be conducted by Reverend Alasdair Gordon and our young people will be taking an active part. In the evening our very popular “Carols by Candleligh­t” at 6.30pm. Why not come along to join in the singing of a selection of favourite Carols and Christmas Songs in our beautiful sanctuary which will be illuminate­d by the glow from lots of candles. We look forward to welcoming all who come through our open door. We will join with our sister church of Hamilton West for a united watch night service at 11.15pm on Christmas Eve and there will be a United Family Service on Christmas Day at 10.45am. on Christmas Day here in Gilmour and Whitehill. We will start the New Year with our normal service at 10am so why not make a resolution to cone to church...you will be made most welcome! Our Coffee Lounge will be closed from December 17, until January 9, 2017. Our volunteers who serve deserve a break and they all look forward to welcoming customers old and new in the new year.

\ St John’s Church Hamilton

The Nativity Service at St John’s Church Hamilton will be led by Rev Joanne Hood at 10.45am on December 18, with the children from Sunday Blast. This will be the fourth Sunday in Advent and in the evening at 6.30pm there will be a Christmas Musical Service with the Youth Group. Please come along and support the young people - everyone will be made most welcome at either service.

The midweek Carol Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 12.15pm with Rev Joanne Hood, Rev Ross Blackman and Anne Macleod, Musical Director. This will be the final service of the year, so please come along. St John’s Centre, Book Corner, and Chapel open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. The Centre will close for Christmas and New Year on Friday, December 23, at 4pm and will re-open on Monday, January 9, at 10am.

\ St Machan’s Parish Church, Larkhall

Worship on Sunday, December 18, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, starts at 11am and will be a Family Service conducted by our minister, Reverend Alastair Mckillop. The Sunday Fun Club will be presenting The ABC Nativity. A Creche is available for babies and children up to three years and this runs from 10.45am.

This is an hour of fun for children from three years to 11 years. The older children have their own programme to follow whilst the younger ones have crafts, songs, stories and a short film. The St Machan’s Walking Group will meet on Tuesday, December 13, at 10.30am behind the church in Marshall Street.

Also on Tuesday, December 13, the St Machan’s Friendship Circle will meet at 2pm in the church hall. The guests will be the Jolly Beggars. On the evening of Tuesday, December 13, Genesis Youth Club will meet in the church hall. This Club is for young people aged between 11 years and 15. The programme for the year includes Games nights, guest speakers, quiz nights, Ten Pin Bowling, BBQ and Genesis Got Talent. There is a £2 nightly fee. The Youth club meets on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from August until May at 7.30pm in the Church Hall. Entry is by the back entrance to the church. Why not go along and have some fun and make new friends. (Please note that there will be no meeting on December 27).

\ Blantyre Livingston­e Memorial Parish Church

Sunday morning service will commence at 11.30am, and Reverend Sharon Colvin will lead the praise. Everyone welcome to attend.

During the service, the Explorers will perform their Nativity Play. Please come along and support the Explorers. Tea and coffee will be served in the large hall following the service, and everyone can go through and have a cup before going home. All are welcome.

\ Hamilton West Parish Church

Our next service will be the forth in Advent on Sunday, December 18, 2016 and will be conducted by our Interim Moderator the Rev Alastair Gordon and will be at 11.30am, during the service the Sunday school will be performing a Nativity Play, all are welcome to come along to this service come early and have a coffee or tea before the service starts.

\ Hamilton South Parish Church

Next Sunday the Sunday School will be presenting the story of The Nativity as we are look forward to this important date in the calendar. There will be a retiring offering in behalf of Tear Fund. Tea, coffee etc, will be available after the service. On Saturday, 17th, as part of our Community Outreach, we are Singing Carols outside the church from 1pm-3pm.

Tea, coffee and warm Christmas pies will be available during this time. Will those taking part please be at the church at approximat­ely 12.45pm. The Festive Family night on Friday, December 16 has been cancelled. On Sunday evening at 6.30pm Members from St Ann’s R.C. Church will join us for an evening of worship and Carol singing. On December 24. Our Watchnight Service will take place at 11.30pm though the doors will be open from 11pm and carols will be sung till the start of the service. The South Choir will lead this service and will be accompanie­d by Matt Edwards - an accomplish­ed Organist - (who can almost make our organ ‘talk’ and become an Orchestra) ... the address will be made by our Reader Dickson Keir. Visitors to any of our Services will be made most welcome. The Guild are holding their Christmas Party on December 19 at 7pm. The entertainm­ent is by ‘Same Difference’ and should prove to be an evening of laughter, song and fun! Everyone is welcome to join us in our last meeting of 2016. Our Organisati­ons are now in recess in line with the School Holidays and the Wednesday Coffee Shop will start back on January 4, 2017.

\ Quarter Parish Church

On Sunday our morning service will be conducted by Rev Donald Lawrie at 9.45am, please come along and join us in our worship. On Christmas Eve our Watchnight Service will commence at 11pm with carols in the Sanctuary and mince pies and tea being served in the hall. The Service will be conducted by Rev Donald Lawrie at 11.30pm. Please come along and celebrate with us.

\ Hamilton Baptist Church

The 1st Hamilton Girls’ Brigade and the 12th Hamilton Boys’ Brigade are holding a joint Christmas Carol Concert on Friday, December 16, at 7pm featuring a presentati­on of “Superstar”. All friends and relatives of the GB and BB are welcome and no tickets are required. There is an early morning communion at 9.45am this Sunday (December 18). The morning service at 10.45 am will be a Family Service during which the members of Junior Church will present a Nativity Play. After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer. A light lunch will be served in the halls after the morning service and everyone is encouraged to join in this time of informal fellowship. The evening service at 6.30pm will be a Christmas Carol Service. The Christmas Eve Service on Saturday, December 24, will be at 6.30pm and there will be a morning service only on Christmas Day.

\ Hillhouse Parish Church

Our service on Sunday will begin at 10.45am and will feature our Junior Church with their Natìvity Story. The children and teachers put an enormous amount of work into making this a very enjoyable service. It would be so good to see lots of friends, mums, dads and families their to show their support and appreciati­on to all who take part in putting this on. There is also tea and coffee available in the hall afterwards, come and join us for a time of Christmas cheer.
