Sexual allegations at party started a rammy
A reveller was left with a four-inch cut on his head after a Hamilton thug hit him with a bottle at a town party.
Kyle Kean was struck on the head by Colin Finlay during a row over allegations about sex.
Twenty-five-year-old dad-of-two Finlay, of Comley Bank, admitted a charge of assaulting 23-year-old Mr Kean at a Burnblea Gardens house on January 17 this year to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Fiscal depute Calum Forsyth told Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday that throughout the early morning of January 17 Mr Kean had been at the address with the accused and others. Mr Forsyth added:“alcohol had been consumed throughout the evening and people were coming and going from the party.”
The householder was 22-yearold Stacey Dillon.
The fiscal depute said about 6am allegations were made regarding sex within the property. A disagreement occurred between the accused and the complainer in the living room and they began shouting, swearing and pushing each other. He said Finlay struck the complainer on the head with a bottle of Budweiser beer, once on the side of the head, adding the bottle made contact with Mr Kean’s head near his left ear causing a four-inch cut.
The ambulance service was contacted, and police attended.
Finlay’s agent Jackson Bateman told Sheriff David Bicket his client was in full-time employment and the father of two children.
Sheriff Bicket deferred sentence on Finlay until January 26 for a criminal justice social work report and restriction of liberty order assessment. Bail was continued meantime.
