Reminder of why we celebrate Christmas

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn 3 v 16.

The scripture reminds us of the reason we celebrate Christmas, God’s love towards humanity, towards you and I. His love for us is unconditional, he loves us the way we are, not the way we should be.

God’s love towards us was shown by Jesus Christ surrendering His life to be sacrificed on our behalf, He paid a great price to redeem us back. We celebrate Christmas in remembrance that God wants us to flourish and experience life abundantly in Him, our Christmas gifts will pass away but the truth of Jesus Christ will remain forever and ever.

Perhaps we should think on this in the midst of the hustle of the season and take a moment to thank Him for His gift to us, the greatest Christmas gift we can ever receive is to acknowledge, believe and receive Christ into our lives.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1 v 16.

Paul writing to the church at Rome reminding them that the Good News is the power of God revealed to them that believe.
