ANTI-ISIS sign features in Clarkson’s new show
Message to terrorists goes global
Larkhall’s defiance towards Islamic State received a rapturous applause when the town was referenced by Jeremy Clarkson in his new Amazon show.
The presenter – along with co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May – filmed an episode of their popular online series, The Grand Tour, in Fort Augustus at Loch Ness.
During a chat with a studio audience, Jeremy highlighted the now infamous welcome sign telling ISIS to “f*** off ” to a global audience.
As reported just over a year ago, a sign saying “Welcome to Larkhall. Except ISIS. You t **** can f*** off ” appeared in the town in November 2015.
An image posted online quickly made its way around the world on social media, with many having a laugh at the town’s sense of humour.
Jeremy jokes on the episode: “If you’re Scottish or Welsh and you do something brilliant, the English decide you’re British.
“And I love being in Scotland because everyone here speaks their mind. There’s no ambiguity.
“Here’s a sign from the Larkhall – this is Scotland!”
With the audience, as well as Richard and James in hysterics, Jeremy then moves onto a front page of the Daily town of Record printed in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at Glasgow airport in the summer of 2007.
As the image is projected on a screen beside Jeremy, the audience can see the headline: “I kicked burning terrorist so hard in the balls that I tore a tendon in my foot.”
Amidst loud applause, Jeremy continues: “And it’s not just words either, it’s actions.
“Someone tried to explode, the bomb didn’t go off, and he didn’t get very far because this happened – that is the Scottish way.”
The Grand Tour series, filmed all around the world including in Europe, America and Africa, can be viewed through Amazon.
