Anyone interested can make contact at Common Greenery, behind Zest for Life in Townhead Street. They are also looking for someone to take on the role of treasurer. Anyone with a background in finance can contact the group via their Facebook page. Camera Club On Sunday, February 19, Strathaven Camera Club members were at the Stirling Court Hotel in Stirling, within Stirling University’s campus, for the annual Scottish Photographic Federation print competition. The club and several of their members, having entered the competition, were competing against camera clubs across Scotland. Unfortunately, none of the members succeeded in winning any of the individual awards. However, the club collectively scored sufficient points to come 23rd out of nearly 50 other clubs competing in the competitions. The winning club was Carluke Camera Club. On Thursday, February 23, Strathaven Camera Club held its last internal competition for the year. It was an open digital image competition and the winner was “Last Leaf” by Robert Young. The competition was judged by Chris Bonnington of Carluke Camera Club. Members are reminded that there is no club meeting at the Rankin Church on March 2 as the club is taking part in the Clydesdale Cup competition being held at Hamilton Camera Club. Any members wishing to travel should contact Elspeth Fear or Heather Kerr to arrange transport. If you plan to travel independently, Hamilton Camera Club is located at Old Parish Church Halls, Strathmore Road, Hamilton, ML3 6AQ. Additionally, members are reminded that March 9 is the hand-in night for the club’s annual exhibition, so bring prints and digital images with completed entry forms that can be downloaded from the club website.
