Mushtaqs cook up a storm for the BBC and star chef
A Hamilton restaurant is set for a big appearance on the small screen after being chosen to take part in a BBC series.
Mushtaqs, of Almada street, will feature on the Best of British Takeaways next Tuesday (March 27) at 7pm on BBC2.
The episode shows Michelin star chef Tom Kerridge exploring Indian food in Britain.
He said:“i was left speechless when I entered the kitchen at Mushtaqs. The volume of food that Mushtaqs cooks fresh to order is simply mind-blowing.
“I’m not surprised they are taking part in this programme.”chef director Ajmal Mushtaq was thrilled to welcome the BBC team.
He said:“we are delighted to be putting Hamilton on the culinary map.
“It’s fantastic for Lanarkshire that a local takeaway is being recognised on BBC prime time.
“This is testament to the hard work by the 55-strong team at Mushtaqs who work tirelessly to ensure the very highest standards are maintained every single day.
“Filming was such a great and fun experience – we really enjoyed every minute of it.”
