Author goes back to school
A former Hamilton College pupil returned to the school to tell pupils about his career as a crime writer.
Abir Mukherjee gave a writing workshop to an audience of S3 youngsters.
He was joined by fellow crime novelist Vaseem Khan. Both of them have chosen India as the setting for their books.
Abir said when he was doing his sixth-year English course he would never have imagined that 25 years later he would be returning as a published writer.
‘A Rising Man’is his first novel and won the Telegraph Harvill Secker crime writing competition.
During his visit he caught up with some of his old teachers.
