Toddlers get donation from firm

- Stefanie Mccourt

Tots at the Jumping Jacks Toddler Group are starting a new chapter – thanks to a donation of books.

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey donated £250 to be spent on new books at the group, which runs at Whitehill Neighbourhood Centre, to mark World Book Day.

Emma Mcginnes, of Jumping Jacks, said: “We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey West Scotland for this kind donation.

“It’s great to be able to add to the choice of books on offer for the children to enjoy and it’s also really inspiring for us to see how much a business like Taylor Wimpey values reading even for our toddlers who enjoy having story time.

“So we are really looking forward to getting stuck into these new books!”

The 20th annual World Book Day took place on Thursday, March 2, to celebrate authors, illustrators and books, and to get more children reading.

Audrey Ross, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Reading is such an important skill, as well as being great fun, so we are delighted to be making this donation to support Jumping Jacks.

“It’s a great example of the way we are committed to supporting schools, playgroups and other local organisations within the communities in which we build our new homes.

“We hope the children really enjoy these new books!”
