Specsavers in Hamilton are joining their stores nationwide in support of Comic Relief and Red Nose Day.

Staff at the Quarry Street store will be encouraging customers to donate to the cause – and all money raised will help poor and vulnerable people living in the UK and across Africa.

Every customer who buys Specsavers’ Red Nose Day glasses until tomorrow (Friday, March 24) will get the chance to take part in a ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition.

Specsavers Hamilton store director Emma Foster said: “Comic Relief carries out fantastic work all over the world and it’s important for us to do all we can to raise money for the cause.

“We hope that customers pop in to show their support.”

Novelty red glasses complete with waving hands are available in store now. They are priced at £2 with all proceeds from sales of the specs being donated to Comic Relief. The glasses come in adult and children’s sizes.

Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
