Gymnasts are cream of the crop
Talented members of Hamilton Gymnastics Club scooped top prizes at the Scottish National Development Plan 9 (NDP) Competition held at Ravenscraig recently.
Amy Livingstone and Katie Hall scooped the Scottish Championship trophy in Grade 5 Women’s Pairs.
The girls competed two routines - one balance and one dynamic routine and came first in both.
Their success means they have now qualified for the British NDP Finals on May 13 and 14 at Fenton Manor, Stoke on Trent.
Meanwhile, Tess Burns, Beth Loughran and Rachel Cahill were crowned third in the Grade 2 groups with one combined routine. They have now qualified to represent Scotland at the Inter-regional Competition in Southampton on April 29 and 30.
Acro gymnastics coach Sarah Marshall said: “The girls have worked so hard on their skills and routines in the gym and it is great for it to be recognised especially when it counts at the Scottish Championships!
“I have no doubt they will go and hold their own at the British Finals and the Inter-regional competition down south.
“I am incredibly proud of them and all of the other gymnasts who competed in the competition. The Acro section seems to be going from strength to strength.”
