’Gow concede four goals... twice

-

None of the county teams managed to win both of their games in the first Wednesday-saturday fixtures package – but Lesmahagow contrived to lose both, conceding four goals in each.

The ’Gow went down 4-1 at Thorniewood, where Jon Mcstay scored before limping off with a hamstring injury.

Then on Saturday they lost 4-0 at Benburb, but on Monday they recorded their first clean sheet of the season in a draw with St Roch’s.

Thorniewood manager Gerry Bonham said: “it was very pleasing on Wednesday, with Lee Pettigrew, Stefan Law (2) and Ryan Scott scoring – it helped our league position.”

On Saturday Thorniewood lost 2-1 in their derby against Bellshill, with Darren Welsh scoring.

Davie Simpson and Ritchie Kane netted for Bellshill, who lost 3-2 to Benburb on Wednesday, when Michael Brunton scored.

Forth rallied after their 4-1 defeat to Larkhall on Wednesday to draw 3-3 at league leaders Cambuslang on Saturday.

Royal Albert on Saturday lost 3-0 at Dunipace in the Central League Cup second round.
