Lanark Amateur Swimming Club star Shiona Mcclafferty emerged with six medals from the annual GB Deaf Swimming Championships in Loughborough.
The 16-year-old travelled down south for the event and for a three-day GB national training camp.
Not only did she emerge with six medals, but Shiona posted five personal best times over the weekend.
Shiona won the 50m and 100m breaststroke and was second in the 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 100m freestyle, with the bronze coming in the 50m freestyle.
Coach Karen Kelly said:“just as encouraging as six podium finishes was that Shiona posted five personal best times, which is excellent in this stage of her preparations for the Deaflympics in Samsun,turkey.”
The 23rd summer Deaflympics take place in the north coast city of Samsun from Tuesday, July 18 until Sunday, July 30, and involves 21 sports, including athletics, badminton, football, road cycling, karate, taekwondo and orienteering.
Shiona and former Lanark team-mate Jack Mccomish are two of three Scots who have made the GB squad for the tournament, which will see Mcclafferty make her international debut.
