Bolt-cutters claim leads to trial date
A Hamilton man has denied having bolt cutters at a town address in suspicious circumstances.
Richard Kilpatrick, of Whistleberry Drive, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being found within the grounds of the Whistleberry Lane property last Saturday, June 17.
The 32-year-old is alleged to have had the bolt cutters in circumstances where it may reasonably be inferred he had intended to commit theft, or had committed theft, and was unable to demonstrate that having the tool was not for the purpose of committing theft.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, Sheriff Allan Mckay set the trial for October 30 with an intermediate diet of October 2.
Bail was granted meantime.
