Foodbank collection

- Stefanie Mccourt

Hamilton District Foodbank has thanked the community for digging deep during a recent collection.

Volunteers with collection tins were stationed in Hamilton and Blantyre on Saturday, June 10.

And they managed to raise the terrific sum of £738 thanks to everyone’s generosity.

The foodbank, which operates at 22 Townhead Street, is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between noon and 2pm, while there is also a service at the Salvation Army Centre on Burnblea Street on Mondays from 11am till 2pm.

A foodbank also operates from the Nazarene Hall at St Andrew’s Parish Church in Blantyre on Tuesdays from 11am till 2pm.

You can also search for the foodbank on Facebook to keep up to date.
