Smillie & Kindlan are all smiles

Ryan Smillie and Dan Kindlan each bagged a double in Wishaw’s end of season awards list.

Smillie, who netted 24 goals including three hat-tricks, was presented with the Top Scorer Award, and was the manager and coaching staff’s choice for the Player of the Year Shield.

Kindlan was awarded the Players’player of theyear Award and the Committee’s Player of the Year Award.

The Allison Young Memorial Award went to Joe Mccafferty.

Club secretary Robert Watson said:“most of last season’s squad have already signed up, with talks taking place with a few others.

“It was good to see Ryan Smillie sign on again, while Ross Mcgeachie – who bagged quite a few goals last season – has also put pen to paper.”

Lanark United face a major rebuilding job losing four first team players. Cammy Lawson left for Cambuslang, David O’donnell left for Fauldhouse, Andy Crilley left for work commitment­s and Kieran Mcgurk has joined an amateur side in Uddingston. Davie Collins may also have to leave.
