Canning needs key slots filled

-

Hamilton Accies boss Martin Canning is looking for at least three or four players to boost his squad for the coming season.

Goalkeeper Remi Matthews and right-back Giannis Skondras are two key players Canning is looking to replace, but there are others in the pipeline.

Canning, who is in Poland as part of his Pro Licence, said: “We’re working hard behind the scenes but it’s difficult to get the guys you want.

“We are looking for three or four players and we’re trying to get guys in, to get them over the line.

“I think we’re starting with some good players, we have a reasonably strong squad and guys like Ross Cunningham, Ronan Hughes, Stevie Boyd, Jordan Mcgregor and Shaun Want are ready for the first team.

“We need three or four quality players on top of that. We need at least one striker, a goalkeeper, and centre-backs, while full-backs is also going to be a problem.

“We’re working hard to get four or five key players in.”
