Hammer incident isdenied
A Blantyre woman has denied attacking and injuring a man with a hammer.
Catherine Christie, of Camelon Crescent, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting James Akelis at Boswell Drive, Hamilton, on May 31 this year to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
The 36-year-old is alleged to have repeatedly struck Mr Akelis on the head and body with the hammer. She further denied a charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, Sheriff Allan Mckay set the trial for September 26 with an intermediate diet of August 31.
Bail was granted meantime.
