or old pictures of the church and activities would be welcome. The Hamilton branch of Sainsbury’s recently held a food drive in aid of Hamilton District Foodbank.

The drive was a huge success with volunteers from the foodbank popping in to the store last week to collect 413.55 kg of non-perishable food from customers.

The store also donated a range of clothing from their TU collection including school uniforms, tops, trousers and dresses for the foodbank to distribute to their users.

Isobel Graham, Hamilton District Foodbank donation manager, was delighted with the support from Sainsbury’s and their customers.

She said:“we would like to thank all the customers from Sainsbury’s in Hamilton who very graciously donated food on the day of the food drive. All donations are greatly appreciated!”

Hamilton District Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area.

It is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger across the UK.
