Our first ever Tea Dance, held on Thursday, July 20 and was a roaring success.

The scene was set with beautiful tea sets on top of lovely new floral tablecloths and the afternoon started with a delicious serving of tea/ coffee, sandwiches, scones and home baking.

Moving on, the dancing began to the sounds of‘johnny Weir’and very quickly the dancers took their place on the floor.

The event was well attended and the feedback was very positive with everyone saying they had a great time.

We are looking forward to our next tea dance which will be held sometime next month. Keep an eye out for the details. The gardening group paid a visit to Sandy and Betty Murray’s garden in Larkhall.

Betty and Sandy, who are volunteers at the LDVG, welcomed the group into their home and hosted the event providing tea and scones. A great time was had by all. The walking group are continuing with their walks despite the horrible weather we have been having.

Hopefully the next few weeks will provide a bit of sunshine to make the outings more enjoyable.

Our new Genealogy group started this week and the response has been good.

This will be an ongoing group who will meet weekly and work on their own family tree.

If anyone is interested in joining us, just get in touch.

The computer class for complete beginners starts next Monday, July 31 at 1pm.

There are still a few spaces available if anyone is interested in coming along. Booking is required.

As always, enquiries for volunteering are very welcome.

We are particularly needing to recruit more volunteer drivers but if you have any other skills you would like to share, please give us a call by calling 01698 888893 or email ann.nisbet@ ldvg.org.uk .
