Nursery kid’s video goes viral
A five-year-old nursery kid who last week became an internet hit with her make-up tutorial has been amazed by the reaction her story has received.
Little Evie Mitchell’s video went viral online and since the Hamilton Advertiser covered the story, she has been featured in online news outlets across the world.
Her proud mum Stephanie Menzies said they couldn’t believe the response it had.
She said: “The past week has been crazy. It’s been busy and we never expected all the attention Evie is getting at all.”
The five-year-old was contacted by a Canadian newspaper and spoke to them about her video.
Stephanie said: “She absolutely loved being in the paper both here and across the world. I explained to her that people in America and Canada had watched her videos and she said she wants to go over and meet them all.”
Stephanie decided to create a Youtube channel for Evie so she could keep all her videos in the one place to look back on.
She said: “I decided to set it up because of how much interest Evie showed in making tutorials.
“I knew it was something she’d get joy out of doing. She’s at a good age now to make her own little videos and to understand that girls and boys her age will be watching the same as she watches, plus she has been asking for over a year.”
Stephanie said Evie is so excited to start making videos.
She said: “She wants to make new tutorials every day. Every morning, she wakes up the first thing and I get asked: ‘Mummy can I make a new video for my Youtube?’ ”
Evie, from Bellshill, has even received her first pay cheque for one of her videos and her mum said that the five year-old already knew what she wanted to spend it on.
She said: “Evie said she’s going to spend it in the make-up shop Kiko and add to her collection!”
