Artistic duo team up for seventh time

Arty hook-up is a big success

A Hamilton art duo are only half-way through their popular Hers‘n’his exhibition and already it has been a great success.

Jim Jordan and Lillias Douglas have been presenting their work together for the seventh time at the Cadzow Gallery in Chatelhera­ult Country Park.

Jim, the former chairman of the Hillhouse Spectrum Art Group, said that the exhibition has had a great turn out so far. He said: “Our previous exhibition­s have been well received by the public. This time we both decided to showcase some new styles which have been really popular!

“We have showcased lots of new techniques which look fantastic.

“The exhibition is going very well so far, comments from members of the public have been very positive.”

The pair produce a range of pieces based on local themes and scenes.

Both artists use vibrant colour and shape and are interested in using a variety of materials, incorporat­ing pastel and colouring pencils as well as paint.

Lillias tends to works in acrylic paint on floral themes and landscapes with a Scottish flair.

And Jim’s paintings are characteri­sed by use of vibrant colour and light.

The exhibition is a free event and began on Monday, July 31 and will run until Monday, August 14.

The opening hours are from 10am until 5pm and everyone is welcome to go along and admire some of the talented duo’s latest colourful creations.
