Public support for road’s engineering award

-

We asked our followers on Facebook if they thought that the roadworks deserved to be up for an engineering award.

Thousands of people read the story and there were plenty of comments.

Nadia Shah said:“it’s a lot better than it used to be.”

Angela Whyte posted:“it’s brilliant engineering.”

Janice Toner felt:“give them the award, because actually, it’s been worth it. That EK expressway that goes under the roundabout is awesome.”

Fiona Mitchell added:“excellent engineering and a fantastic job.”

Rod Lennox said:“so much better what a difference it makes. Saves me a lot of time as a courier.”

John Kellighan posted:“great engineering job. No traffic management is painless.”

Paul Veverka added:“it didn’t cause as much disruption as people feared, kept traffic flowing and I love I can get home now without queues.

“It’s shaved half an hour driving time off my daily commute when considering each way.”

Derek Robertson said:“magnificent project and fabulous engineering from all.”

However Allan Stewart said:“three years, £500 million and there’s still traffic lights to hold everyone up! Ingenious.”

Lyndsay Ford commented:“is it any better now that before they started, maybe a little bit! Was it worth £500 million, not a chance!”

Graeme Cuthbertson added:“the roads are good aye, but the planning was terrible with roads closed left right and centre.”
