Blantyre to elect community councillors

Blantyre Community Council are looking to elect nine new Community Councillors.

Notice has been given that Blantyre Community Council can proceed with an election in terms of South Lanarkshire Council’s Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.

Any person on the Register of Electors, for the area of the Community Council who seeks election to the Community Council, should lodge a nomination form signed by the prospective Community Councillor.

The form should then be counter signed by a proposer and seconder, both of whom shall also be on the Register of Electors for the area.

A boundary map of the Community Council area is available to view locally and on the Council website.

When requesting nomination forms, applicants must include their post code.

Completed forms should be returned to the Community Council Liaison Officer no later than 12pm on Thursday, August 24, 2017.
