Hamilton ...................... 3 Dundee ......................... 0

Darian Mackinnon played a major role in Hamilton’s 3-0 home win over Dundee – but warned not to expect him to weigh in with goals.

Mackinnon volleyed in Hamilton’s opener in 25 minutes and then set up Steven Boyd’s cracking second goal 11 minutes later.

However, Daz says he doubts there will be more to come from him on the goals front.

He said: “I’m delighted to get the goal. I don’t really care who scores the goals, I just want to win the game, but with me scoring and assisting I’m delighted.

“It was a decent ball through to Boydy but the wee man needs to take the credit because his first touch was brilliant. And then having the vision to see the keeper off his line, I can’t take any credit for that, the wee man’s a genius.

“I’m trying to get more goals but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

“The gaffer is trying to get more strikers in but it’s a difficult process for them to try and get players in – but that’s above my pay-grade, I’ll leave that to them and see what happens.”

Hamilton have now defeated Dundee in their last three games and that’s a stat not lost on Mackinnon. He said: “It was a must-win game early in the season, you don’t want to fall behind too early, and I thought in the first half we were excellent.

“In the second half we had to dig in a wee bit because they threw the kitchen sink at us but we held on and got a bit of a break with the penalty miss. But we deserved it I think.

“I wouldn’t say there’s bad blood between us because that would be wrong but there’s a rivalry between us because of what has happened
