Quizzers raise £1000for hospice

The own­ers of a Larkhall pub helped to raise £1000 for St An­drew’s Hospice.

A fundrais­ing night was held on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 7, at the Ranch pub in Larkhall.

Own­ers Alec and Gina Love hold a quiz night ev­ery Thurs­day and de­cided to make it a fundraiser for the hospice.

Brenda Mcken­drick, a vol­un­teer at the St An­drew’s Hospice shop in Larkhall, said: “There were singers and the quiz­mas­ters do­nated raf­fle money and, of course, a gen­er­ous do­na­tion from Alec and Gina Love plus the amaz­ing gen­eros­ity of the cus­tomers.”

She thanked the cou­ple for or­gan­is­ing the fundraiser.

Brenda added: “We are al­ways look­ing for vol­un­teers for the shop and any­one who can spare a few hours a week would find it very re­ward­ing and so worth­while.

“Just call in to the shop and ask for Pauline Kerr who will be de­lighted to show you around and meet our vol­un­teers.”
