Quizzers raise £1000for hospice

The owners of a Larkhall pub helped to raise £1000 for St Andrew’s Hospice.

A fundraising night was held on Thursday, September 7, at the Ranch pub in Larkhall.

Owners Alec and Gina Love hold a quiz night every Thursday and decided to make it a fundraiser for the hospice.

Brenda Mckendrick, a volunteer at the St Andrew’s Hospice shop in Larkhall, said: “There were singers and the quizmasters donated raffle money and, of course, a generous donation from Alec and Gina Love plus the amazing generosity of the customers.”

She thanked the couple for organising the fundraiser.

Brenda added: “We are always looking for volunteers for the shop and anyone who can spare a few hours a week would find it very rewarding and so worthwhile.

“Just call in to the shop and ask for Pauline Kerr who will be delighted to show you around and meet our volunteers.”
