The date for next year’s Gala Day in Larkhall has been set.

Following on from the success of the town’s day held in May earlier this year, the gala committee are delighted to announce they will be doing it all over again next year.

The new date of Saturday, May 19, has been set and the committee are already kick starting their fundraising by hosting a family party night in the town.

Larkhall Leisure Centre will be the fundraising venue for the evening which will be held on Saturday, September 30 from 6-10pm.

Eve Malina, of Larkhall Gala Day Committee said: “The fundraiser promises to be a great fun night for all the family with entertainment provided by Sportworx Entertainment and the event is Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) and tickets include free buffet. “

Tickets cost £4 per adult, £2 per child or £10 for a family ticket for four and are available by contacting the Larkhall Gala Day Committee at larkhallgaladay@yahoo.com or by visiting the Larkhall Gala Day Facebook page.

This year’s gala day was held in May and was a first in the town for years.

Families across Larkhall turned out to show their support and the even was hailed a huge success.

Schools and nurseries took part in the fancy dress parade in a bid to bring back the traditional event to the town.

Businesses got into the spirit of the day by decorating their windows, while residents were delighted to take part in the fun and decorate the outside of their homes.

But it was the 101 Dalmatians entry that caught the eye of the judges at Montgomery Place in the town to take first place.

There were prizes for the best dressed float and on the day Larkhall singer Angel Gold entertained the crowd.
