\ Harvest Christian Fellowship

We meet every Sunday at 10.30am in Hillhouse/earnock Community Centre. The service this Sunday will be led by Pastor Willie Watt and will be followed by refreshmen­ts.

Our prayer and testimony evening continues throughout the month of September on a Wednesday evening at Hillhouse, 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Our kids’ club Monday Club will be off for the September weekend but will be back Monday, October 2.

\ Hamilton Old Parish Church

Our Sunday morning service is at 10.45am with worship being led by Rev Ross Blackman.

Creche and Sunday Live! run for our younger members during the service. Join us for a tea or coffee over in the halls following the service.

The badminton club meet at 7pm on Monday and Tuesday sees our decoupage at 1pm, Brownies at 6.15pm, banner group at 7.30pm and the Old Kirk Dancers at 7.45pm.

All sections of our Boys’ Brigade meet from 5.30pm on Wednesday evening with the choir meeting at 7pm.

\ Blantyre Congregati­onal Church

On Thursday, September 21, the morning service ‘Quiet Time with God’ begins at 10am. This is a short service for anyone feeling the need to reflect amid the busyness or challenges of their lives. On Friday our Junior Section of the BB meet within our church hall at 6.15pm, followed by our company section at 7.45pm.

On Saturday there is a safeguardi­ng training day for all our deacons, which begins at 9.30am, and will be led by Jim Reid. On Sunday our morning worship begins at 11am and will be led by our minister Reverend Malcolm Anderson. If you are new to the community, or looking to get back to church, then a warm invitation is extended to you. Our Sunday School, The Ark, for primary school children also meet at 11am. After our morning service Rev Anderson has a vestry time. On Monday, September 25, at 7.30pm our ladies’ group, The New Comers Club, meet for fellowship.

As part of their syllabus there is a guest speaker in attendance, followed by tea, coffee and cake.

On Tuesday, September 26, our singing group, The Voice, meets within the sanctuary of the church at 7pm with new folks always welcomed.

On Wednesday evening at 6.15pm our Anchor Boys meet within the church hall. A massive thank you to all who supported Jean and Jeanette in their charity morning for Macmillan Nurses, and the wonderful total of £535 was raised. \ St John The Baptist Church, Uddingston

There is a coffee morning in aid of Mary’s Meals this Sunday, September 24, after the 10am mass, which will coincide with the pastoral visit from Bishop Toal. Choir practice will resume this Sunday at 11am and new members are most welcome.

The monthly Medjugorje mass is on Monday, September 25, at 7.30pm. Rosary begins at 7pm.

The next baptismal talk for parents and sponsors is on Monday, October 9, at 7.30pm in the small hall.

On Monday the Padre Pio Prayer Group meet after the 9.30am mass and a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm to 9pm.

The SVDP meet at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and the RCIA meet at 7.30pm in the small hall.

On Wednesdays a divine mercy hour begins at 7pm in the Oratory and a prayer and praise group meets from 8pm - 9pm.

The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays, 10am-7pm. Church cleaning is on Friday mornings after mass if anyone would like to help.

Sunday Masses: Vigil 4.30pm, 10am, noon, 6pm. Weekday mass: 9.30am daily. Confession­s: Saturday 9-9.25am and after vigil mass.

\ St John’s Church Hamilton

Morning worship at St John’s Church Hamilton will be led by Reverend Joanne Hood at 10.45am on Sunday, September 24, when all will be made most welcome. The evening service will be held at 6.30pm. The midweek service which lasts 15/30 minutes will be held in the church sanctuary on Thursday, September 21, at 12.15pm. Please come along and invite a friend. Messy Church will be held on Saturday, September 30, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Please join us for Messy Moses, all children must be accompanie­d by an adult. Details of all the church organisati­ons are available in the centre. St John’s Centre will be closed on Saturday, September 23, and Monday, September 25. It re-opens on Tuesday, September 26, at 10am. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. All welcome.

\ Blantyre Old Church

Rev Sarah Ross will lead us in worship at 11am. All welcome. Sunday Club meet as usual.

Refreshmen­ts will be served in the hall following the service. There will be no meeting of the leisure group on Monday, September 25. Tonight (Thursday, September 21) the guild meet at 7.15pm when they will hear from Ross Mcfarlane about the work of Haiti Mission Internatio­nal.

Next week’s speaker is Anne Gray, whose topic is ‘My Lamp has Gone Out’. On Saturday, September 30, we are holding a Doors Open Day in the church from 10am–5pm, including a mini-history event. Messy Church starts back on Monday, October 2, at 6pm in the large hall.

\ Hamilton West Parish Church

Our next service will be held on Sunday, September 24, at 11.30am and will be led by our interim moderator the Reverend Alasdair Gordon. Why not come along and join us? Tea and coffee are available before the service, so come a bit early and enjoy a friendly chat. All organisati­ons are back in full swing, as are all the clubs that meet in the halls.

\Dalserf Church

Week beginning September 21. Sunday Worship on September 24 in Dalserf at 11.30am conducted by the Rev John Stevenson.

Sunday Pathfinder­s’ will meet during morning service. Choir will also meet at 10.15am.

Boys’ Brigade met in Rorison Church, Ashgill tonight, September 21, and again on Thursday, September 28. Our Girls’ Brigade meet in Rorison on Monday, September 25, in Rorison Church, Ashgill at 6.30pm.

St Machan’s Parish Church

Worship on Sunday, September 24, starts at 11am and will be led by Rev Alastair Mckillop. The praise band will lead the singing. A creche is available for babies and children up to three years and this runs from 10.45am.

The Sunday Fun Club runs from 11am in the church hall. This is an hour of fun for children from three years to 11 years. The older children have their own programme to follow whilst the younger ones have crafts, songs, stories and a short film. Come and join us, you will be made most welcome.

The St Machan’s Walking Group will meet on Tuesday, September 26, at 10.30am behind the church in Marshall Street. On Saturday, September 30, St Machan’s Senior Friendship Circle will be holding a coffee morning in the church hall with home baking and a cake sales table.

This coffee morning starts at 10am until noon and the cost is £3.

\ Gilmour and Whitehill Church

This Sunday, September 24, our service is at the normal time of 10am and will be conducted by Reverend Alasdair Gordon, interim moderator of our linked charge with Hamilton West.

A warm welcome is extended to all. Tea and coffee are served afterwards which gives time to chat and catch up. In the afternoon, our outreach team will visit Aberglen Care Home to lead a short service of worship at 2pm.

On Wednesday, September 27, the YOD Club meets between 10 and noon. This is a new facility for those living with Young Onset Dementia and their carers. On Thursday, September 28, the Memories tearoom will once again be open between 1 and 3 for those living with dementia and their carers. Please feel free to drop in for a chat and a cup of tea. Regrettabl­y, the 9th Hamilton Boys’ Brigade is still in recess due to the lack of officers.

Our coffee lounge is open every weekday between 10 and noon. There is always someone to talk with so why not pay a visit.

\ Hamilton United Reformed Church

On Sunday, September 24, Reverend Gordon Smith, retired United Reformed Church minister, will lead us in worship.

The service begins at 11.30am and the Sacrament of Communion will be observed, followed by refreshmen­ts served in the hall. A warm welcome is extended to all. Please remember items for the Hamilton Foodbank.

\ Quarter Parish Church

On Sunday our morning worship will be conducted by Reverend Donald Lawrie at 9.45am. Please come along and join us in our worship.

On Friday, September 22, our friendship lunch club starts back and will continue every Friday at 12.30pm, starting with an afternoon tea. Why not come along and enjoy a pleasurabl­e lunch, a game of cards and a blether with old friends in a warm and welcoming environmen­t?

During the winter months lunch consists of home-made soup, crusty bread or bread rolls and home baking.

On Sunday, October 1, there will be a cup of tea after the service in the hall.

\ Blantyre Livingston­e Memorial Church

Sunday morning service will commence at 11.30am, when Reverend Murdo Macdonald will lead the praise. Tea and coffee will be served in the large hall following the service. Please feel free to go through and enjoy a cup before travelling home. Bru ‘n’ Blether will be open in the church hall on Thursday from 10.30am until noon.

\ Hamilton South Parish Church

The Reverend Donald Lawrie will conduct the service on Sunday at 11.15am. The Sunday school will meet during the service and there will be no tea, coffee, etc after the service. The Bible study group will meet at 9.30am. The craft sharing group will meet on Monday at 10am and the prayer group at 6.30pm.

On Tuesday the Kirk Session meet at 7pm in the lounge and the adult badminton group at 7pm in the large hall.

The Wednesday Fellowship meets at 9.30am, the coffee shop at 10am, and the popular nearly new shop from 11.30am till 2pm. In the evening the Snowdrops meet at 5.30pm, the Brownies at 6.30pm and the Guides at 7.30pm.

The Thursday Bible study group meet at 7.30pm.

An open invitation is extended to anyone wishing to join us in worship or call and find out about our various groups. Last Sunday, the Reverend Keith Bridick led the service and the congregati­on enjoyed tales of his past experience­s as a Methodist minister. Although retired for quite some time he has once again taken up a post in the Crosby area of Liverpool.

\ Hamilton Baptist Church

The services at 10.45am and 6.30pm on Sunday, September 24, will be led by the Rev David Wilson. After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer. Light refreshmen­ts will be served in the halls after the morning service and everyone is encouraged to join in this time of informal fellowship.

The 1st Hamilton Girls’ Brigade are holding a cupcake cafe on Saturday, September 30, from 10am to midday. Everyone is invited to drop in for a tea or coffee and a cake or to buy a takeaway box of cakes. All proceeds will be used to assist with the cost of the camp in April 2018.

The church has opened a Youtube channel which will be showing both live and recorded morning church services starting this Sunday. Details of this facility are on the church Facebook page. For further informatio­n on all these activities, please contact the church on 01698 284004.

\ Hillhouse Church

The service on Sunday will start as always at 10.45am and will be led by the Rev Christophe­r Rankine, all are welcome. On Monday the Men’s Club will meet from 7.30pm and they will have Liz Smith from Kilbryde Hospice as their speaker.

On Tuesday the Guild of Friendship will meet at 2pm in the lesser hall and the speaker will be Eleanor Mair. New members would be most welcome. On Tuesday evening the Girls’ Brigade meet from 6pm. Pupils from P1 upwards can come along and join in.

On Wednesday, Joyce’s Voices meet in the main hall from 1.30pm. On Wednesday evening Cameo will meet at 7.30pm, when we will have Marjory Robertson talking about and displaying World in Miniature items.

On Thursday the prayer meeting will take place in the lesser hall from 7pm. On Fridays our Boys’ Brigade meet up from 6pm, and new starts from P1 upwards are welcome.
