TABS drama group is looking for sponsorship
Stonehouse business owners are being encouraged to dig deep to support the local theatre group.
The Acting Bairns of Stonehouse (TABS) was established 20 years ago as a children’s musical theatre group, and became a registered charity in 2014.
In a bid to raise funds and cover costs, the group is hoping local businesses will consider sponsorship or donate raffle prizes.
TABS volunteer Nicola Alder said: “We provide an activity that boosts the participants’ confidence, enables them to express themselves and improve their self-esteem and encourages general wellbeing and fitness.
“We also aim to be accessible to all by keeping weekly and production fees for the members to a minimum.
“The children perform shows twice a year – a musical in March and a pantomime in November.
“TABS do our best to support the community and regularly perform in local nursing homes, at Burn’s Nights and provide entertainment to WRI and pensioners’ evenings, and in addition we do our best to participate in local events such as gala days and Christmas lights festivals.
“All profits from our performances go to TABS and will allow us to continue providing this valuable local service.
“This will benefit the children in the purchase of costumes, sound and lighting, licences fees and production costs, etc, and will also benefit the local community in a much-needed diversion for local youths.
“This year we have decided to offer the businesses in our community the chance to advertise in our programme which is distributed to more than 400 people locally. “In addition we will include your company logo on our posters which are displayed throughout the village from late October.
“In return we ask that you make a small donation to the group or donate a raffle prize. We ask that the minimum value of your donation is £25.
