Harvest Christian Fellowship

We meet every Sunday, 10.30am at Hillhouse/earnock Community Centre.

The service this Sunday will be led by Pastor Andrew Smith and will be followed by refreshmen­ts.

Our prayer and testimony evening continues on a Wednesday evening at Hillhouse, 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Monday Club for children of primary school age kicks off at 7pm at Hillhouse.

Hamilton United Reformed Church

On Sunday, October 1, the Reverend Derek Corner, retired United Reformed Church minister, will lead us in worship.

The service begins at 11.30am and will be followed by refreshmen­ts served in the hall.

A warm welcome is extended to all. Our next elders meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 11, at 7.30pm. Please remember items to bring along which can be sent to the Hamilton foodbank.

Hamilton Old Parish Church

Our Harvest Thanksgivi­ng service is this coming Sunday at 10.45am with worship being led by Reverend Ross Blackman.

Creche and Sunday Live! are available for our younger members during the service.

Today, Thursday, the 1970 Ladies’ Club meet at 1.30pm in the Session Room.

Onto next week, our badminton club meet at 7pm on Monday. Tuesday sees the decoupage group (1pm), Brownies (6.15pm) and the Old Kirk Dancers (7.45pm).

Our Guild have their first meeting of the new session on Wednesday at 2pm in the session.

In the evening all sections of the Boys’ Brigade meet from 5.30pm and at 7pm we have the choir.

Gilmour and Whitehill Church

Rev Alasdair Gordon, interim moderator of our linked charge with Hamilton West, will conduct our service this coming Sunday, October 1, at 10am.

A warm welcome awaits all who come to share in our fellowship.

Our Sunday school and Bible class meet during the service.

Agnes and Karen extend an invitation to all children and young adults to come along.

This afternoon (Thursday) our popular Memories Tearoom, for those living with dementia and their carers, will be open between 1pm and 3pm. Please feel free to drop in for a coffee and a chat.

The Lyndale Club meets on Tuesday, October 3, at 7.30pm when the speaker will be a representa­tive from Kilbryde Hospice.

Macmillan Cancer Care will benefit from monies raised, £ 212, by members of the Lyndale Club over the summer and at their first meeting of the new session.

This will be added to monies raised at a recent church luncheon and a magnificen­t £ 752 is the resultant total which will go to the charity.

Our coffee lounge is normally open every weekday between 10 and noon. Please pay a visit, you will always be welcomed.

Tickets are now on sale for the Sunday school coffee morning being held in the church hall on Saturday, October 21.

St John The Baptist Church, Uddingston

Fr Towey and his parishione­rs were delighted to have a visit last Sunday from Bishop Toal who celebrated all the masses and spoke about the goodness and mercy of God in his homily.

We give thanks for the leadership he gives as our bishop and will pray for him and his important ministry as the chief shepherd of our diocese.

There is a meeting for all Caritas students this Sunday, October 1, at 5pm in the small hall.

The next baptismal talk for parents and sponsors is on Monday, October 9, at 7.30pm in the small hall.

On Monday the Padre Pio Prayer Group meet after the 9.30am mass and a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm to 9pm.

The SVDP meet at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and the RCIA meet at 7.30pm in the small hall.

On Wednesdays a divine mercy hour begins at 7pm in the oratory and a prayer and praise group runs from 8pm-9pm.

The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays 10am-7pm. Church cleaning is on Friday mornings after mass if anyone would like to help.

Sunday Masses: Vigil 4.30pm, 10am, noon, 6pm. Weekday mass: 9.30am daily. Confession­s: Saturday 9-9.25am and after vigil mass. Our next service will be held on Sunday, October 1, at 11.30am and will be led by our interim moderator the Rev Alasdair Gordon.

Come a bit early and enjoy a tea or coffee and chat before the service starts. All are invited to come along and join us.

On Monday night the 2002 Club meet in the large hall the guest speaker for the night is Marjory Robertson who will present the World in Miniature.

All organisati­ons are in full swing as are the clubs that meet in the halls, and they are always looking for new members.

Blantyre Congregati­onal Church

On Thursday, September 28, our Quiet Time with God services return. We meet within the sanctuary of the church at 10am and all are welcome to this short reflective service.

On Friday evening the Junior section of the Boys’ Brigade meet at 6.30pm and company section follows at 7.45pm.

On Sunday, October 1, our morning worship, which includes the Sacrament of Communion, is led by our minister Reverend Malcolm Anderson.

After the service there is a vestry hour by appointmen­t. Any donations for the Loaves and Fishes project will be received on that morning.

On Monday, October 2, our ladies’ group The New Comers Meet in the church hall at 7.30pm with an invited guest speaker.

On Tuesday, October 3, at 7pm our singing group The Voice meet within the sanctuary, with any new members welcomed.

On Wednesday Our Anchor Boys return and meet in the church hall from 6.15pm.

Hamilton Baptist Church

The 1st Hamilton Girls’ Brigade are looking forward to holding a cupcake cafe this Saturday, September 30, from 10am to noon.

Everyone is invited to drop in for a tea or coffee and a cake or to buy a takeaway box of cakes.

All proceeds from the cupcake cafe will be used to assist with the cost of the camp in April 2018.

The morning service at 10.45am on Sunday, October 1, will be led by the Rev David Wilson.

After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer.

Light refreshmen­ts will be served in the halls after the morning service and everyone is encouraged to join in this time of informal fellowship.

The evening service at 6.30pm will be a youth-focused “SOUL” service when some of the young folk will be giving their testimonie­s.

The church has opened a Youtube Channel which will be showing both live and recorded morning church services starting this Sunday.

Hamilton South Parish Church

Reverend Donald Lawrie will conduct the service on Sunday, October 1, at 11.15am.

There is an evening service at 6.30pm. The Bible Study Group will meet at 9.30am.

On Monday, the craft sharing group will meet at 10am and the prayer group at 6.30pm.

There is a meeting of the Mission and Disciplesh­ip Group at 7.30pm.

The adult badminton group meet on Tuesday at 7pm.

The Wednesday Fellowship meets at 9.30am followed by the coffee shop at 10am.

The nearly new shop will be open from 11.30am till 2pm and in the evening The Snowdrops meet at 5.30pm, the Brownies at 6.30pm and the Guides at 7.30pm.

On Thursday the Bible study group meet at 7.30pm.

There is an open invitation to any of our services and any adult or child wishing to join any of the organisati­ons will be made most welcome.

The Guild dedication service will take place on Sunday, October 8. The family service will also be held that day.

St John’s Church Hamilton

Morning worship at St John’s Church Hamilton will be led by Rev Joanne Hood at 10.45am on Sunday, October 1.

This will be the Harvest Thanksgivi­ng service when all contributi­ons will go towards the ‘Place of Restoratio­n’ and ‘Turn on the Tap’.

The evening service will be held at 6.30pm. All will be made most welcome at either service.

The monthly service at Avonbridge Care Home will be held in the home at 2pm on Sunday, October 1.

Join us for Messy Moses on Saturday, September 30, from 10.30am to noon.

All children must be accompanie­d by an adult.

The midweek service, which lasts about 15-20 minutes, will be held in the church sanctuary on Thursday, September 28, at 12.15pm.

Sunday Worship on October 1, in Dalserf at 11.30am will be conducted by the Rev John Stevenson.

Sunday Pathfinder­s’ will meet during morning service.

The church choir will also meet at 10.15am.

Boys’ Brigade met in Rorison Church, Ashgill tonight (September 28) and again on Thursday, october 5.

Our Girls’ Brigade meet in Rorison on Monday, October 2, in Rorison Church, Ashgill at 6.30pm.

Hillhouse Parish Church

Our service on Sunday from 10.45am will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion and the celebratio­n of Harvest Thanksgivi­ng.

Items of non-perishable foods would be gratefully received on Sunday and these would be passed on to our local foodbank.

On Wednesday CAMEO will meet at 7.30pm when we Anne Walker JP will be speaking to members about Tales from the Court.

On Thursday the prayer meeting will take place in the lesser hall from 7pm. New members would be warmly welcomed.

St Machan’s Parish Church

Worship on Sunday, October 1, starts at 11am and will be led by Rev Alastair Mckillop.

This will be a family service during which the re-dedication of the Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade will take place.

The young people from the Sunday Fun Club will join us for all of the service. We look forward to welcoming everyone.

The St Machan’s Walking Group will meet on Tuesday, October 3, at 10.30am behind the church in Marshall Street.
