New deal is a perfect fit for club
One of Motherwell’s biggest automotive retailers has joined forces with an iconic sporting institution thanks to a new sponsorship deal.
Lookers Nissan and Hyundai in Windmillhill Street, Motherwell is now one of the main sponsors of Holytown Colts, which has become synonymous for its work in fostering participation in sport among the community and beyond.
Holytown Colts runs no fewer than 16 teams, from 3-5 year-old Mini Colts right through to the over-45s team, and they recently received the Quality Mark Legacy Award from the Scottish Football Association for its community engagement work.
The sponsorship agreement, which will see Lookers provide strips for all 16 teams, as well as a range of training equipment, is a perfect fit, as a number of staff and their children play for teams at the club.
Lookers general manager John Gavin said: “We’re very proud to sponsor such a wellknown institution as Holytown Colts, which has done so much to support the community, particularly youngsters looking for something to focus their energies on, as well as develop their social circles.”
Scott Sleith, club secretary at Holytown Colts, said:“we’re very excited about the prospect of working with such a prestigious sponsor like Lookers Nissan and Hyundai Motherwell.
“We have always prided ourselves on the positive influence we have in the community and we are sure the support of Lookers will help us to continue our work long into the future.”
John Gavin added:“we’ll be doing our bit to promote the club to our customers, and I’m sure more of our staff will also get their football boots on and get involved with this fantastic club.”
