It was spook-tacular
Over 100 party-goers turned out in fancy dress for the Fairhill Halloween Party.
The free event was held at Trinity Church and was organised by Fairhill Community Group – supported by Community Links (South Lanarkshire).
Around 74 local children and 57 adults took part in Halloween-themed party games, dancing, fancy dress and a family disco, with music provided by Community Links volunteer and young entrepreneur, Connor D DJ Service.
Prizes were also given out for best girl and boy costumes.
The community group is made up of local volunteers from the Fairhill area who work hard all year round in organising the annual Fairhill Fun Day, as well as running the Fairhill Community Café and the Fairhill Food Co-op.
The Halloween party was only made possible through donations received at the fun day as well as through money raised at the community food co-op and café.
Louise Mcbride, chairperson from the Fairhill Community Group, commented: “This is the second Halloween party held by the Fairhill Community Group. Kids and adults alike had a great time dancing and playing games.
“All the costumes were fantastic and prizes were given for best boy, girl and toddlers costumes.
“Fairhill Community Group would like to thank their local shops for generous donations (Fairhill Cooperative, Hillhouse Tesco, Hamilton M&S and Hamilton Wilko) and local residents Molly – for her kind donation – and Josie Hynd for making homemade candy apples which were sold on the day to raise funds for the groups next event.
“The group would also like to say thanks to their members for their continuous hard work and to everyone that helped them on the day, including friends Lorraine Wetherill and Jeremy Watret.”
