Drink driv­ing chargeis de­nied

A Hamil­ton woman has de­nied driv­ing while be­ing more than twice the le­gal drink drive limit.

Mar­garet Mal­lon, of Jeanette Av­enue, ap­peared at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 24.

She pleaded not guilty to driv­ing a ve­hi­cle while hav­ing a breath/al­co­hol count of 51 mi­cro­grammes in 100 millil­itres of breath – the limit be­ing 22mg of al­co­hol in 100ml of breath – on Craigth­orn­hill Road in Glass­ford on Tues­day, Septem­ber 26.

The 43-year-old fur­ther de­nied be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing, swear­ing and mak­ing threats to po­lice of­fi­cers who were at the scene.

She also de­nied a charge of re­sist­ing, ob­struct­ing or hin­der­ing po­lice of­fi­cers Danielle O’hara, An­gela Nee, Scott Malone and Steven Fox by at­tempt­ing to run away and strug­gling vi­o­lently with the of­fi­cers.

Sher­iff An­drew Mcin­tyre ad­journed the case for trial un­til Jan­uary 31, 2018, with an in­ter­me­di­ate diet of Jan­uary 4, and granted Mal­lon bail mean­time.
