Com­mu­nity group win award

Com­mu­nity Links (South La­nark­shire) have been awarded the Healthy Work­ing Lives Sil­ver Award as part of their on­go­ing ef­fort to pro­mote health and well­be­ing in the work­place.

The group are a com­mu­nity con­sul­ta­tion and en­gage­ment char­ity who are try­ing to iden­tify what res­i­dents con­sider to be as­sets and work with them and part­ners to im­prove the area. They work be­hind the scenes help­ing vol­un­teers with events like Fairhill Fun Day and youth clubs at the Hill­house Hub.

Healthy Work­ing Lives sup­port or­gan­i­sa­tions in pro­mot­ing a health­ier and safer work­place and Com­mu­nity Links have worked hard to gain their Sil­ver Award.

Anne Marie Lyons Neil, ad­min­is­tra­tion and in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer for Com­mu­nity Links, said: “It’s great to see our em­ployer giv­ing us the op­por­tu­nity to par­tic­i­pate in fun and healthy ac­tiv­i­ties in the work place.

“There are huge ben­e­fits for com­pa­nies in join­ing the scheme such as re­duc­ing ab­sence and sick­ness – we have great at­ten­dance records.”
