Fes­tive fun in the pipe­line

The Strathaven Choral So­ci­ety are gear­ing up for their an­nual Christ­mas con­cert.

‘A Fes­tive Feast of Christ­mas Mu­sic’will take place on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 3, at Strathaven Scout and Guide Cen­tre as the group look to raise the roof by hav­ing some fes­tive fun.

This con­cert will have a mix of old favourites – in­clud­ing some Carl Jenk­ins, along­side well-known songs and fes­tive ar­range­ments.

The Coal­burn Sil­ver Band will join the Strathaven group and play some of their own pieces as well.

There will be no tick­ets in ad­vance so ev­ery­one pays at the door.

Doors open at 6.15pm with the show start­ing at 7pm.

En­try is £10, which in­cludes a pro­gramme and also a warm drink and mince pies.

Young peo­ple un­der the age of 18 go free.

This year the so­ci­ety will be sup­ported by St An­drew’s Hospice vol­un­teers who will be help­ing out with snacks and raf­fles.

The choir is al­ways look­ing for new mem­bers, so if you can sing, the so­ci­ety will wel­come you along.
