Medal joy for Larkhall Avondale

Larkhall Avondale Amateur Swimming Club enjoyed a successful October, taking several medals and personal best times.

At the Hearts Premier Meet in Prestonpan­s, Rebecca Cole (10) won bronze in the girls’11 and under 50m breast and two regional programme qualificat­ion times in 100 and 200 breast. Claire Kennedy (14) took bronze in the 14 years 50m fly.

Thirty-one personal bests were recorded at the South Lanarkshir­e Developmen­t Meet.

Luke Adams (14) was second in 200 back and third in 100 free, Greig Beattie (10) was third in 200 IM, Addison Cole (8) was second in 50 free, Rebecca Cole was first in 100 free, Lauren Curtis (10) was second in 100 free and third in 200 IM, Charli Mccarron (11) was third in 100 back, and Kieran O’connor (9) was first in 100 IM.

At the Milngavie and Bearsden Graded Meet the club dominated the 8 and under girls’section.

Darcey Graham (8) won the 50 free and 50 breast and was third in 50 fly, Millie Barton (8) won gold in the 100 IM, silver in 50 back and bronze in 50 breast. Lauren Curtis won bronze in 50 back.

At the Alloa Graded Meet Emma Kennedy (18) won gold in 50 breast, 100 IM and 50 free, silver in 50 fly, and bronze in 200 free, 200 IM and 100 free. Jason Cumming (15) won gold in 100 fly, silver in 50 free and 200 IM and bronze in the 50 back.

At the Kilmarnock Jets Meet Kaitlin Nutt (18) won silver in 50 back and 50 free and Joshua Wallace (12) won the 50m back and bronze.
