Friends team up for the eighth time

-

A Hamilton art duo are showcasing their popular exhibition Hers ‘n’ His for the eighth time.

Jim Jordan and Lillias Douglas are collaborating once again to present some of their work at the Hers ’n’ His exhibition in Bellshill Cultural Centre.

It opened last week and you can pop along for free until Wednesday, January 10.

Jim, the former chairman of the Hillhouse Spectrum Art Group, said that he is delighted to be working with Lillias once again.

He said: “Our previous exhibitions have been well received by the public.

“This time we both decided to showcase some new styles, which have been really popular.

“We have showcased lots of new techniques, which look fantastic.

“The exhibition is going very well so far, comments from members of the public have been very positive.”

A former graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Lillias has been re-establishing herself as a professional artist following a teaching career.

The pair are a well-known double-act among Lanarkshire art lovers, and when brought together, their work compliments each other perfectly.

Previous exhibitions have been held at venues like Motherwell Civic Centre, East Kilbride Arts Centre and Chatelherault.

This time round, they have produced a range of pieces based on local themes and scenes.

Both artists use vibrant colours and shapes and are interested in using a variety of materials, incorporating pastel and colouring pencils as well as paint.

Lillias tends to works in acrylic paint on floral themes and landscapes with a Scottish flair.

And Jim’s paintings are characterised by use of bright colours and light.

Everyone is welcome to go along to the Bellshill Cultural Centre and admire some of the talented duo’s latest colourful creations.
