ON THE MOVE

Advertiser staff to have new home in the town

- Staff reporter

The Hamilton Advertiser has been serving the community for over 160 years – and is looking to the future.

Next month, we will be moving to new premises in the town centre.

Since its launch in 1856, the Advertiser has showcased the best this area has to offer. And we will continue to do so from our new base at Brandon House, next to the bus station.

Our first day in our new premises will be Thursday, December 14.

And we will be having an open event in the office the following day, Friday, December 15, when you can pop in.

The newspaper is also embracing change in the digital age and remains a trusted constant for readers and advertisers.

Working closely with the communities it serves, the Advertiser has delivered hard-hitting local stories, led important campaigns and offered a voice for its readers.

Whether in print or online, the title also offers a trusted platform for local and national advertisers to promote their goods and services.

From our new base, the Advertiser will remain focused on delivering the best for its readers and advertisers.

Hamilton Advertiser editor Robert Mitchell said: “The Advertiser is a vital part of life in Hamilton and the surrounding area and we are proud to be a part of that.

“The paper offers a great platform for our community to share its stories, celebrate its successes and spotlight important issues.

“It’s a privilege to work at a paper with such a loyal readership, supported by the great local businesses which advertise with us.

“We now have digital platforms that our readers are embracing.

“Our website and social media pages on Facebook and Twitter are thriving, breaking news every day and offering readers the chance to connect with ourselves and each other in new ways.

“The Advertiser has been on the go since 1856 and that is an amazing achievement – and long may it continue.”

The Advertiser is staffed by editor Robert Mitchell, news reporters Shirley Bartynek, Stefanie Mccourt, Leona Greenan, Kirsten Mcstay and sports reporter Andy Mcgilvray.

Well-known photographers Norman Inglis and Douglas Mckendrick have worked in the area for decades and are always out and about capturing everything that is going on. The advertising team for the Advertiser are Carole Mathers and Fraser Black.

Carole said: “I was born and raised in the area. I love the job.

“It’s so good be able to get out and meet local people over the last 30 years and offer the support they need to deliver the best for their business.”
