Red Hot Chilli Pipers to rock Lanarkshire
A show so hot it carries its own health warning is coming to Lanarkshire this festive season.
Bagpipers with attitude, screaming guitars and drums with a Scottish accent are what audiences can expect when the Red Hot Chilli Pipers take to the stage. The established rockers are the most famous bagpipe band on the planet and have achieved feats such as playing at T in the Park and winning world titles. Reaching incredible heights in recent years with their groundbreaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock/pop anthems – which they proudly dub ‘Bagrock’ – the world renowned Red Hot Chilli Pipers continue to rock the performance circuit both home and away.
Awarded the mantle of Best Live Act in Scotland not once but twice, the Chilli Pipers have never been more in demand for their infectious style of feelgood music, which appeals to music fans of all ages across the world.
There is sure to be a white-hot atmosphere when the lads will be bringing their own brand of piping to Motherwell Concert Hall for the first time on Sunday, December 10.
Venue manager Craig Smart told Lanarkshire Live: “We are delighted to be hosting our first ever Red Hot Chilli Pipers gig. The band really have made their mark of late, and I know they’ll go down a storm at Motherwell.”
He added: “This will be a unique event for us, as it’ll be the first time we have promoted an event with both seating and standing options. Not forgetting our brand new PA system which is sure to blow away any winter chill in the air.”
Support for the RHCP concert comes from up and coming young rockers Sperry from Glasgow’s East End. Frontman Daryl Speirs will be performing stripped back versions of the band’s most popular tracks.
He said: “We’ve worked so hard on the latest recordings and it is so exciting to be able to unleash them on the Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ crowd.”
Sperry’s debut single I Want My Day will be released at the end of November.
Seats for the gig are now sold out but there are still some standing tickets available at a cost of £32.
