Ellie excels in Sandra Clarke Cup

Motherwell gymnast Ellie Patrick was in a Scotland team that finished second at the prestigious Sandra Clarke Cup in Nottingham.

Ellie (13), of Dynamic Gymnastics, was first for vault overall at the competition earlier this month.

Scotland were competing against France, England and East Midlands.

Head coach Sarah Scott said: “Well done Team Scotland!

“The team came second and our girl Ellie was vault champion with the highest average vault score.

“So proud of you Ellie, well done all the girls for their fabulous team spirit shown, and for their individual results.

“Ellie performed with confidence and style.

“She put out a lot of new skills and contributed well to the Scottish team’s scores.

“We are hugely proud of Ellie and look forward to her competing at her first British Championships in March.”

Club safeguarding officer Suzy Miller said:“that was a fabulous result, especially for Ellie.

“She puts in 26 hiours of training per week.

“Her dedication and tenacity towards her sport of choice is commendable.

“Her parents Scott and Anne Marie are extremely supportive and are 110 per cent behind her.”

Dynamic Gymnastics, which is based at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, are always looking for sponsorship to help with costs.
