Eight gymnasts from Hamilton Gymnastics Club’s men’s and women’s artistic sections have done well at British finals.

The boys travelled to Birmingham, where five of them represented their country at the British grades finals.

Nine-year-olds Aaron Gregory, Jak Weir and Cameron Falconer were part of a Level 1 Scotland team which finished fifth out of 12.

Coming sixth in the UK in the all-round competition, Cameron Falconer was invited to take part in a Performance Camp at Lilleshall – the home of British Gymnastics – next month, to receive coaching from the top coaches in the country.

Aaron performed brilliantly on the parallel bars, finishing fifth out of 72 competitors on the tough apparatus.

Coach Shona Grigor said: “It was a great result at our first national finals competition.

At the same time, three of the club’s girls were competing across the country in Guildford in the British Voluntary Finals.

Phoebe clocked up the seventh- best score on floor in the entire UK.
