Acting bairns stage panto to remember

TABS’ version of Hansel and Gretel is a big hit

Young stage stars in The Acting Bairns of Stonehouse (TABS) wowed the crowds at their recent panto.

The group hosted this year’s production of Hansel and Gretel at St Ninian’s Church on Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25.

Kian Barrie and Carrie Millar took the lead roles of Hansel and Gretel, respective­ly, and were joined by Emma Robertson as the Forest Fairy, Lauren Allan as the Wicked Witch, Jamie Thomson as Miss Demeanour and Lauren Perry as Willie.

Other starring roles went to Kyra Barrie as the Father, Daisy Walker played the Stepmother, while Heidi and Martin were performed by Katy Evans and Callum Weir.

The part of Fred the Robot was played by Ethan Kelly, Cameron Neill, Cameron Monie and Samuel Ramsay.

The show was directed by Nicola Alder and Emma Timmins.

Nicola said: “We are so proud of each and every one of our kids at TABS! What an amazing show – everyone loved it!

“We cannot believe panto is over for another year.

“All the children are a pleasure to work with every week, and it makes all the hard work worthwhile when we see their wee faces on stage.

“Emma and I are already planning our Easter musical, so watch this space!”

TABS is a not-for-profit group and has been in existence for over 20 years in the village.

It aims to boost participan­ts’ confidence and self-esteem, encourages wellbeing and fitness.

The next performanc­e on the calendar for TABS is the Christian Aid and concert at St Ninian’s on December 17.

The Easter show next year will be Annie, and will be hosted from March 23–25.
