Patersani finish 2017 on highest note yet

-

A Strathaven band has rounded off the year by giving a new group a chance.

Rockers Patersani played a headline show in the Ballgreen Hall last Friday – and invited Strathaven Academy kids Invisible Hill to support them.

Patersani was founded by brothers Craig and Dave Paterson, who both sing vocals and play guitar. They grew up in Strathaven and went to the academy.

Trio Invisible Hill won a battle of the bands competition to support Patersani and front man Dave was delighted to join them on stage.“we have sort of made New Year shows a tradition for the band,” he said.

“We knew we wanted to gig again and decided why not do it in our home town to celebrate the biggest year the band has had?

“We contacted Strathaven Academy to offer a young band the chance to support us on the night. We thought it was a good way to give a young band an opportunity.

“All the guys in the band originally met at the academy and learned our trade there, so it was only fitting.”

New dad Dave has had a tough job balancing the trials of being a parent with the rock‘n’roll lifestyle.

However, he is not expecting 2018 to be any quieter, adding:“this has been the biggest year the band has ever had, and 2018 is lining up to be a really positive year for the band.

“We recently changed management and have joined forces with Allie Barr, the former manager of the Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow. We are recording new material, teaming up with Bruce Rintoul again in February, before hitting the road touring and lining up our biggest summer to date.”
