Time to look in mirror

-

Richard Tait says every one of Motherwell’s players need to take a look in the mirror following their 3-1 derby defeat at home to Hamilton.

The Fir Park side took a fourthminute lead through Craig Tanner but were unable to hold on and were soundly beaten in the end.

Tait said their second-half showing wasn’t good enough – and that they all now need to regroup.

He said:“it’s a hard one to take. We didn’t deserve anything from the game the way we played in the second half.

“I thought we were terrible, so we’ll go away in the break and have a good, long, hard look at ourselves.

“I think we need to do that and use the break to come back with a fresh mindset and a fresh body.

“We have to learn from this – and quickly. As you see, the league table can swing very quickly.

“The fact that we got the season off to such a good start has kind of kept us reasonable. But the form we’re on at the minute is not good, so we need to go away and look at ourselves.

“We need to put things right after the break. We’re four points off secondbottom and that’s disappointing.

“That’s why it was such a massive game – we could have gone seven points clear of Hamilton, never mind the bottom two.

“It’s good that we got off to such a good start but that’s clearly gone. We need to come back for a fresh start.”
