Jasmin’s online plea for cash to reduce 32K bust and help end pain

One-in-a-million bone disease means Jasmin has endured a similar pain to arthritis for years

A Stonehouse woman has set up a Gofundme page to raise money to go towards a breast reduction.

Jasmin Vlassi says that her 32K breasts cause her serious pain on top of having a rare bone condition.

The 20-year-old has been back and forth to doctors over the years to try and get the issue resolved, but after going round in circles she decided to take matters into her own hands and go private.

Doing this means she will need to fork out up to £7000 for the op.

And she spoke to the Advertiser about how she has endured a pain similar to arthritis for years.

A young woman suffering from a rare bone disease has set up an online appeal to raise money for a breast reduction.

Jasmin Vlassi (20) started the campaign so that she can finally feel confident in her body.

And she has been “overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness” since going public with her Go Fund Me page.

At the age of 13, Jasmin’s bust was a DD and it really had an effect on her.

She said: “I started to notice that I was different in PE class aged 13.

“I felt embarrassed to run in front of the opposite sex, so I’d do anything I could to get out of taking part.”

The last time Jasmin was professionally measured, her bra size was coming in at 32K.

She said: “The last time I a 32K, but I know they’ve grown since then.

“I’m just holding off being measured again as it’s not an enjoyable experience being told that I’ve gone up a size, it makes me feel like crying.”

The customer service advisor decided to take matters into her own hands when doctors told her that nothing could be done as she was still developing.

The Stonehouse woman said: “I first went when I was 13 and was told I was still developing and to return at 16.

“I did wait but at the age of 14 I fell very ill and went through a long process of being diagnosed with a rare bone disease called CRMO which stands for Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis.

“I’m told it’s a similar pain to arthritis.

“The statistics for getting the disease are one in every million.

“Having a large bust never really helped with the pain in my bones, as they added on to the weight. My dress sizes would fluctuate from size 8 to size 18/20 and I can’t remember the last time I was happy with my body.

“I went to the doctors again when I was 16 and was told again that I was still developing, so I returned at 18.

“That time I was told to lose some weight, which was fine, but before when I’d asked, I’d been a lower dress size.”

The 20 year-old felt like she was going round in circles and longed to be happy.

She decided to try a private clinic. They said they would carry out the procedure for her – but at a price tag of almost up to £7000, Jasmin decided to create the fundraising page.

She said: “I set it up last night actually and I was petrified.

“I have always hesitated to make one of these pages as I know there are people that deserve help so much more.

“I thought this was worth a try as I’m not the richest of the bunch and I have had to make the choice to go private to receive a breast reduction I have longed for since I was young.”

Jasmin continued: “I set it for £100 on Go Fund Me because I don’t want to ask too much of people.

“I know it’s just after Christmas and people have their own things to deal with as well.

“I need to pay a £1000 deposit. The operation cost depends on whether they feel my breasts need to be lifted or not.”

Since setting up the page, Jasmin said she has been overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness and has so far received £130.

She said: “My friends have been so supportive, even people I’ve not spoken to in so long. I’ve had numerous messages and lots of people sharing the post, which I’m so grateful for.

“I’ve actually had so many girls, older and younger, message me to tell me they felt insecure about their bodies, which is so brave because I think it’s a hard step even to open up about the way you feel.

“It’s not just girls, I’ve had boys speak to me about it too.”
