Foodbank thanks store

-

Hamilton District Foodbank have thanked a town supermarket for their support.

Sainsbury’s have a dedicated donation point at the front of the store.

Isobel Graham, from the foodbank, said:“we’re delighted to be receiving so many donations from the generous customers and colleagues at Sainsbury’s Hamilton, who have helped to raise awareness of our cause.

“These items really will benefit local people suffering from food poverty. We’re looking forward to working with the store in 2018.”

Customers at Sainsbury’s can donate products throughout the year, and the products will be collected by volunteers from the charity and redistributed to people in the area.

Mark Taggart, store manager at Sainsbury’s Hamilton, said:“our customers are very generous all year round and as we enter 2018, we hope to see even more food donated to help people in the local community who may be at risk of going hungry.”

Hamilton District Foodbank is based in Townhead Street and is open there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from midday to 2pm.

You can also go to the Nazarene Hall, St Andrew’s Church, Blantyre, on Tuesdays from 11am to 2pm.
